Before getting back with ex be sure you are prepared and want to straighten out all the tangled ends, and more than just prepared; you need to be sure that that’s what you really want to do. Will all the adjustment that you are going to have to make be worth it for both of you? Generally broken relationships get harder and harder to mend for the nth times they get busted until finally, the day will come when you can do nothing more but throw out the broken bowl, the roses and all.
It might help to get mathematical about it . List down your expectations and make a counter list of what you really got from the relationship in terms of those expectations. Rate each item in the “what I have now” list from 1 to 5 and add the ratings all up. If you get an average of 3 above, then it might still be worth looking into the relation again. If your rating drops below 3, the problem maybe miscommunication fatigue. Maybe one or the other has undergone some changes and you are not dancing to the same tune anymore.
But even in the worse scenario getting back with ex is not an impossible task. Your success will depend on your willingness to communicate and your unselfishness to compromise on issues. Attempting any reconciliation without either of the two above-mentioned is like leaping from the grill to the charcoal pit and burning out the relationship for good.
You shouldn’t think about changing who you are. Think more in terms of tweaking your personality to fit in with your partner’s. In other words, improve on yourself, better your flexibility, your patience, your intuitiveness and understanding.
When you finally get to work getting back with ex don’t expect miracles. Fruits don’t grow in one day. Also, remember to work for improvements. The only way to sustain good relationships is to keep them constantly improving.
